It is unlawful in Vermont to carry a dangerous or deadly weapon, openly or concealed, with the intent or avowed purpose of injuring another person. It is also unlawful to carry a dangerous or deadly weapon within any state institution or on the grounds or lands owned or leased for the use of a state institution, without the approval of the warden or superintendent of the institution.
In Vermont it is unlawful to carry or have in one's possession a firearm, dirk knife, bowie knife, dagger or other dangerous or deadly weapon while within a school building. The board of school directors may authorize the possession and use of firearms or other weapons for specific occasions or for instructional purposes when facilities for instruction are available.
