Employers in Mississippi must conform with these state rules relating to the employment of minors.
In Mississippi, no employment certificate requirement is specified. However, a minor under the age of 14 may not be permitted to work in any mill, cannery, workshop, factory, or manufacturing establishment.
Minors between the ages of 14 and 16 are also not permitted to work in such establishments unless they are in compliance with the compulsory school attendance law.
